It’s a Talk Movie To Me Christmas
Ho Ho Ho cinephiles! It’s the 4th annual Talk Movie To Me Christmas special and we are proving that no matter what 2020 throws at us it’s still a wonderful life! This week we got a fever ( a good one) for some Holiday cheer, and we are jingle jollying our way through three holiday films! Firstly, we discuss a black and white classic starring Jimmy Stewart, that made us laugh , cry, and question quantum physics? Secondly, we stick it to the man …by paying for an apple tv subscription and watching A Charlie Brown Christmas and then obsessing over the modest and understated Mariah Carey’s Magical Christmas Special. And finally, it wasn’t the happiest of seasons while discussing the new holiday film starring Kristen Stewart and Aubrey Plaza. So grab some rum and eggnog, because you need to be as inebriated as we are at the end of this episode. It’s beginning to look a lot like a Talk Move To Me Christmas!
Ammonite, Shorts to Features, In Focus Natalie Portman
This week we're taking a beach vacation...sort of. Travelling all the way back to the 1840s to lay under an overcast sky and develop a fever from bathing in the sea. And you can enjoy all of that too with Francis Lee's latest feature Ammonite! The theme for Our Week in Entertainment is Growth Spurt; shorts that turned into features. And lastly, we put the career of Helen's favourite, Natalie Portman, In Focus.
Mank, The Show Must Go On & In Focus Denzel Washington
“You cannot capture a man's entire life in two hours. All you can hope is to leave the impression of one.” So says Herman Mankiewicz in this week’s feature film, Mank, directed by David Fincher and starring Gary Oldman and Amanda Seyfried. For Our Week In Entertainment, our theme this week could also be the theme of 2020: The Show Must Go On. And finally, we put the career of Hollywood Icon and one of the most impactful actors of American cinema, Denzel Washington, In Focus.
DOUBLE FEATURE: Sound of Metal, Hillbilly Elegy
Double Double toil and trouble two movies in one we attempt to juggle. A double feature for you film lovers, full of bleached blonde rockers and problematic mothers. A busy award season is Riz Ahmed’s fate , while Glenn and Amy are cursed with some failed Oscar bait. A new episode is here and to you we will cater, whether you are a good, a neutral or a bad terminator. So grab your ear buds and begin to settle, for a double feature of Hillbilly Elegy and Sound of Metal!

Kajillionaire, Mo’ Money Mo’ Problems & In Focus Ben Affleck
This week we’re shlumping around in oversized clothes, mumbling like a teenage boy and scooping up buckets of gnarly pink soap suds in the quirky and original world of Kajillionaire. Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems is the theme of Our Week In Entertainment. And finally, don’t be fooled by the rocks that he’s got, he’s still Benny from the block. We put the career of Ben Affleck In Focus.
First Cow, A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing, In Focus Meryl Streep
This week, we’re travelling back two hundred years with Kelly Reichardt’s First Cow. Things are not as they seem with Our Week In Entertainment as the theme is 'A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing'. And lastly, the segment Ms. Sinclair has been dreaming of, we put the career of the most celebrated actress in history, Meryl Streep, In Focus.
On the Rocks, Looks Like You Could Use a Drink, In Focus Tom Cruise
This week we’re grabbing our binoculars and some caviar and riding around The Big Apple in a hot red convertible, because there’s some sleuthing to do as we discuss Sofia Coppola’s new film On the Rocks. Did the film go down smooth? Or did it leave us with a bitter aftertaste? For Our Week In Entertainment we each watched films that fit the theme “ Looks like you could use a drink!” And finally, we tackle the Mission Impossible feat of putting the MASSIVE, the EXPLOSIVE, the LARGER THAN LIFE, career of the one and only Tom Cruise IN FOCUS. This episode summary will self destruct in 5 seconds….5…4…3…2…1…

Our 100th Episode
This is the 100th episode of Talk Movie To Me. We’ve come so far. We’re full grown podcasters now. Listen in as we reminisce on the past three and a half years. We discuss some of our favourite moments, favourite fights and throw a little shade (and love) at one another. Thanks for listening and here’s to 100 more!
Ratched, Doctor Movies, In Focus Owen Wilson
This week we’re checkin in to the looney bin. Does the new Netflix series Ratched rot our brains with an ill-conceived lobotomy, or is it just what the doctor ordered? For Our Week In Entertainment we seek medical attention from some movie doctors. And finally, we put the career of happy slacker, blonde cowboy Owen Wilson In Focus.
The Devil All the Time, Angels and Demons, In Focus Helena Bonham Carter
This week we take a big bite out of some Southern Gothic pie and watch The Devil All the Time starring Spider-Man, Batman and Pennywise the Clown. Did the film live up to its righteous expectations or was an underused star studded cast its ultimate sin? For Our Week In Entertainment our film theme was “Angels and Demons.” And finally, we put the career of English Rose turned Goth Goddess Queen, Helena Bonham Carter, In Focus.

On this week’s episode we were taken on a journey full of twists, turns and head shaking confusion while watching Antebellum, starring the talented Janelle Monáe. For Our Week In Entertainment we hatched the perfect plan and set off on a blazing trail of vengeance, and explored films that fit the theme “Revenge is a dish best served cold.” And finally we geeked out while putting the films of A24 In Focus.

I’m Thinking of Ending Things, Bad Reputation, In Focus Stephen King
We hope you’ve taken your morning happy pill, because we are staring off into the void of existential dread and generally getting lost in the blizzard of our own nihilistic thoughts. Yes, dear listeners, this week’s film is I’m Thinking of Ending Things, the latest cheerful romp from writer director Charlie Kaufman. Then we explore bad reputations in Our Week In Entertainment and finally we put the film adaptations of the Master of Horror himself, Stephen King, In Focus.
Tenet, Daddy Tissues, In Focus Tom Hardy
WE ARE BACK WITH SEASON 4! We missed each other, we missed all of you but, above all, we missed the movie theatre. So the three of us masked-up and went back to our happy place to watch Christopher Nolan’s Tenet. For Our Week in Entertainment ,the theme was “Daddy Tissues”; movies that made our dad’s cry . And lastly, we put the filmography of the always sexy, always muscly, often times unintelligible Tom Hardy In Focus.
